Went a little nuts on GB this weekend: 3 S&W on the way

Two of the new Smiths fit this board and one does not.

First is a Model 37 (no dash) that I stupidly overpaid for by a bit. Oh well, but I still look forward to getting this one. A 1971-ish "Floating J" with 3" barrel and original box.

Second is a M&P Model of 1905 4th change. A 4" .38 Special gun with good (but not spectacular) finish and I think original (at least correct type--large gold medalions) service stocks. 100 numbers into the 4th Change range, so should be from 1915.

Third, a First Model .32 Hand Ejector. Have never owned an 1896 Model before. You do WHAT to open it???

I'm mostly watching GB nowadays since prices are crazy. It is entertaining to watch the Sunday night auctions when a lot of collector grade items go for big bucks.
The 1896 32 HE you landed was the one I was watching, unless there are two Teddydogs in this world.. You got it for a real good price IMO. If I didn't already have an 1896 one of us would have paid more for it.
Congrats on your purchases. Would love to see pictures when you receive them.

Glad I didn't have to pay more. Thanks for holding back. My local shop has one in their "gunsmith specials" case with unknown issues and they are asking $400 for it!

I think I did OK on the M&P at $345 plus tax and shipping, too. The M37 was too high at $650...don't know why I went there, especially when the next day one in the same condition, same age, with box and an original receipt went for $100 less. <shrug>

Here are teaser pics from the auctions. Will be a couple weeks until all are shipped and in hand (esp. the M37 as it has to go to a dealer and the WA 10-day wait).

Not sure how I feel about GB making things that easy... I seem to be the owner of a 6" 686 after this weekend myself. (Won't stop me from continuing to look for a 4" 586, though.)
