Went to a Cabelas retail store today....

I like looking in the big stores. I usually buy online, but if the item is only a few bux more I will buy in store and have item then instead of my 2 day shipping that takes 4 days.

I do enjoy Cabela's, I have been to several all over the counrty.

The bright side is that Cabela's has Net sales that are attractive and small items I want. Now I can buy online and they will ship to store for free. For example, there was some SD ammo I wanted to try that can't be found local so I ordered just one box.

+1 on this! You can order reloading stuff like dies, bullets, etc. (not powder though) have it shipped to the store for free. I would suggest judging them by their vast online-catalog-ship-to-store-free capability than by any overpriced junk you actually see in the store.

I mean really, who wants a shirt that says "Cabelas" on it? AND ALL of their shirts say "Cabelas". ALL of them. Even the hats. It's madness I say.

I'd read about....

I'd read about things people were getting from big box sports stores and was thinking that I only have a few LGSs around here. When I started visiting these stores and a few being built around here, I was really disappointed.

We aint :D got a Cabellas here but--just yesterday--I spotted a truck in a WM parking lot that had the Cabellas logo all over it.I wonder if that means they are thinking of scouting for a local here in CC to open up shot in??

Anyway, our Academy actually has some pretty good prices on their weapons. I can actually get some select pieces there cheaper than elsewhere. However, their half-inch black powder cannon--no dice--too derned expensive.

I look at all retailers the same. If they have what I want at what I am willing to pay, I buy it. Yea, some are to much $$$ for me so I move on.

No point getting ones undies all wadded up over what others are charging/paying as it is not my problem. If some idiots want to over pay for a firearm or safe or what not at Cabelas, so freakin what!!
