What a Difference a set of grips can make

Took my 317-2 from the "thinking of selling list" to "keeper".

It was a redundant item, already having a 43C, but I liked the exposed hammer of the 317 so I picked it up. Both are excellent shooters and settling on one to keep was proving difficult.

Then the wood grips I had in my spare parts stash found their way onto the 317 and POOF, I had a completely different revolver that felt as good as it looks.

Looks like this little 317 Snubbie will be around for a good while longer.

Amazing what the right grips can do for you. I too have a box of assorted grips that I exchange on my revolvers to find one that fits just right. Makes a big difference.

Although S&W didn't put wood on the 65-8 I think it looks a lot better.

Wood grips on stainless finish revolvers always looks good in my opinion.

I too found that same "What a difference a set of grips can make." On my Model 36 "Chief's Special" I swapped out the factory grips with Altamont boot grips. Much better control and tighter shot groups with the boot grips.
