I regrettably sold my 10/22 a couple of years ago as I wasn't shooting it much. Now that my sons are old enough to get into shooting, I thought I'd buy a couple of .22 rifles. Almost went with the 10/22 again out of habit until I discovered the existence of the 15-22. I bought two of them: one for me and one for my oldest son's birthday present. I'm the local scoutmaster so we took these to a Fathers & Sons scout shooting activity. There was a wide collection of rifles being used but all the boys fell in love with my 15-22s (the only ones there). They all desperately want one of their own now. We had an absolute blast. The dueling tree was exceptionally fun. And while all the other dads/boys were jamming rounds into their 10/22 mags with their fingers like Neanderthals, I was blazing through my mag reloads with a McFadden Lightnin' loader. Best gadget ever. Love these rifles!!! Will be getting my younger son one of his own next year. Maybe my wife needs one too. :) Great job S&W!!!

It is a real shame the Appleseed folks aren't allowing the Smith's at their shoots. Seems like the perfect choice.

It's been nearly two years since that "temporary" ban went into effect. No progress since then? Since I only have 15-22s I can't take my boys to an Appleseed event. :(

Not going to their events is probably best. No way I'd put kids (or adults) elbow to elbow on the firing line like PA does.
I notice they took the pic of "elbow to elbow" shooters down from their site...
