Ive been using Speers 165 gn Gold Dot with great results, im sure the 180 gn would be just as good too. Also welcome to the forum!

Only thing I've heard negative in US commercial ammo for these guns is some failure to lock back or eject with very light bullets, like 135gr.
From 155 to 180 seems no problem with the usual sources.

Every caliber seems to have one bullet weight that's "just right" for it. (like the 158gr bullet for the 38/357 and the 230gr bullet for the 45 Auto) IMO a 165gr bullet is just right for the 40 S&W. (just my opinion though)

thanks for the help ,ive been wanting to try some 155-165 grain stuff thru it.gives me a reason to buy more ammo.i get more back in to the swing of shooting again i know im going to love this gun, gets better each time i shoot it.
