I did a search of the board looking for threads talking about safes. Could not find one thread.
With all the newer firearm owners since all heck broke loose,I wonder how many actually went and bought safes also?
Just curious what everyone is using to store their firearms?
Liberty here.

comments?

*edit* dog gone, after I start this thread I look further down in the lounge and there is a thread looking for a safe recommendation. Wonder why it didn't show up in my search?

Cannon 48 gun safe. ½hour fire protection. BTW, is it just me or are safes going up in price? It seems like the safe I paid $700 for (on sale) is $1000 now. (Also on sale).

General question for the panel, am I correct that Browning, Winchester and Redhead (bass pro) are all made by the same company?

I also second or third the statement go bigger then you think you need.

I have a 17 gun Liberty. It wont hold 17 long guns. My advice is go bigger than you think you need.

I have the large Fort Knox that weighs in at about 1,400#dry. It has a decent fire rating and with its extra stainless steel inner liner it’s going to make a break-in much harder. (Note I said harder, not impossible.)It’s well bolted down. It has available many kinds of interior packages so you can tailor to fit whatever your gun collection is.

I have had a Fort Knox for over 20 years, no problems. Buy the largest safe you have a place to place in your home, You will fill it up before you know what happened.

Mine is a Heritage traditional with an S&G battery powered lock.I mainly bought it for the 90 min. fire rating .

It`s a good safe, and plenty big enough, but now my handgun collection has outgrown the shelves, so I need to do some mods to make space for more Smiths.

Double up what you think you need as your contents will expand more quickly than you expect. I have several. All with tumblers. I would not recommend anything with a push-button, battery dependent mechanism.

I'm on the verge of needing another myself...:o

I have a Kingsberry that I've had over 30 years. Not sophisticated like the safes are now, no vault-looking lugs, or fire protection, but still secure and heavy. Good lock, too.
