I've dabbled in guitars for years, never been much of a player but I love the look and feel of a vintage guitar so I've a got a few that I mess with from time to time. Anyway, I've apparently been living under a rock because I've only just discovered the world of cigar box guitars and amps and these things are bad ***, like the rat rods of the music world. Don't know how I missed them, the guitars have only been around 150 years or so. Anyway, I'm looking to learn more about them and was wondering if anyone here plays or makes them and what you guys can tell me about them and learning to play a 3 or 4 string. I love the blues and these things look so simple I'm thinking that even I might be able to get the hang of it.
Thanks in advance!!

If you have a guitar try tuning to D A D F# A D.

You now have six stings to deal with.

I like this tuning a lot but there are others.

I use a glass slide on my little finger to free up my strong fingers for picking notes and muting unwanted noise.

Don't think you're gonna play a cruddy guitar and get away with it. I have guitars that are set up for it. In my opinion a good one can be picked as well.

Slide guitar is fun to learn. There's a lot of info out there.

sign maker here in town makes them. Three string four string and amplified . PM andill get you his info.CBG. [email protected]
