Y'all will remember a while back I cheated death in the high branches, but at the same time ground up a pole saw cutting head (apparently their idea of "light" cutting and mine are worlds apart
) . I finally came to the conclusion that my 7 year old PoulanPro 3516 is a Papa Oscar Sierra as I can't get it to start, have taken it apart and can't put it together again-in other words, it wasn't working when I started on it, so I really couldn't make it any worse
SO I have sdecided after much searching on the web tot buy a Husqvarna. What can y'all tell me about the 455 Rancher. Too much saw? Just abour right or can I get away with something lighter. remember my baseline is the Poulan 3516. It was a monsterous step up when I got it after having a little bitty 14" $109.00 green Poulan. Kinda like when I went from Windows 98 to VIsta. So is the 455 rancher far beyond what I really need, or should I say what the heck and buy it under the old saying too much power is better than not enough. Im not getting the 460 as it is too big. I really like the fetures the 455 has that the 450 doesn't and the rancher series is in the 3.5 hp range as opposed to the 2.5 range the "homeowners' saws are.
