Great looking gun and I think I saw that one at the show.

My show find wasn't nearly as nice. I bought a fourth Model M&P of 1905 in 38 S&W special with 4 inch barrel today at the Tulsa Gun show and the serial number is 296023. The gun was made in the fall of 1918 and it has some surface blemishes.

I had National Guard duty and couldn't go, but my buddy picked me up a nice (according to him!) Model 19-2. Can't wait to see it!

Surprisingly, I didn't actually buy anything at the show. I dithered on a Perfected Top Break, but eventually decided to keep looking for a nicer one.

Although I didn't buy it at the show per se, I did acquire a Triple Lock. This is one that forum member cubrock had advertised for sale in the "For Sale or Trade" section. He sent it to my local dealer who had a table at the show, and I picked it up from him there. Ironically, cubrock had a table of his own two rows over! Could've saved on shipping from NC, but he didn't know for sure at the time of sale that he was coming to Tulsa. But it was good to meet face to face.

I haven't had a chance to take pictures of my own yet, but here are the ones from the ad and the accompanying text. Having been altered, the gun suits my non-purist sensibilities. I intend to shoot it, but I believe I'll swap out the grips for something less fragile when doing so.

"4-inch Triple Lock - non-factory refinish. Real mother of pearl grips. Cut down from a longer barrel. Attributed to William Deaton, an Oklahoma sheriff's deputy, sheriff, and rail detective on the Atchison, Topeka, & Santa Fe. He seemed to have recorded the highlights of his career under the grips. I've found court records for two Prohibition cases in which he testifed. Definitely a lot more neat research can be done here. Gun is mechanically sound and a neat piece of history. $900"

The pictures that Steve took and posted are accurate - the gun looks just like as pictured. I've never been that big on nickel guns, or pearl grips, but this should make a nice companion to the similarly appointed Ladysmith that I recently acquired.

Lot's of nice Smith& Wesson's at the show for sure. Registered Magnums, K-32's, 1917's, etc., etc. I got a new set of grips for my M-29 (the ones I had left much to be desired, not numbered anyway).

No Pics yet but, i picked up a 15-2 (K6046xx) 1964? and then nickle 25-5 from 29Aholic Thanks Curtis
We left ealier than planned due to weather conditions on the way back home but, had alot of fun and met some nice people..

I found a lot of panic buying and high prices! This is hard on our hobby....

There were certainly dealers with guns marked at rediculously high prices like a $850 28-2 with 6 inch barrel or the nickel 27-2 with 5 inch barrel for $1350. There were a few dealers charging what I thought was fair prices like the 29-2 with presentation box and tool kit for $675.
There were no deals on grips that I saw as it seems all the dealers know what they are priced on ebay and they are trying for the same high prices.
It was my first Tulsa show so I found it interesting.

High prices mostly. Some were priced fairly, some were priced exremly high for the quality of the piece.
I did locate a Mod 19, 2.5 rb, p&r, looks to be 85-90%, priced quite nicely I might add.

Well, "somebody" (we won't say who huh Steve?

). I'll post it in the appropriate forum after I shoot and clean it.

Did any of you guys get the Model 520 wearing Pachmayers, on the lower level at 5-LA? Looked like a shooter, priced at $$895.

How about the nicely refinished 2nd Model Hand Ejector .44 at 9LC for $425? I was really tempted by that one but had just bought the Triple Lock mentioned above - thought I'd leave it for someone else.

Tom K, I saw someone buy the HE .44 2nd on Saturday morning. The refinish was turning a plum color, but the price was right.

Chris, not to worry, I still have it and you are first in line.

Steve

I got this whole package at the show.

April 1957, 44 magnum with box, and a pristine box of early ammo.
