What do you think of gun socks?

I use them, the gun gets a final wipe going into the sock, keeps my greasy finger prints off the shiny parts.

I wear tennis shoes a lot so I wear the shorter type crew socks, usually Gold Toe. I don't think my socks would fit my rifles.

Been using them for many years. Yep , they protect from bumps & rubs in the safe. Most of my military rifles are in Sock-Ups. Anything with fancy or nicely finished wood is in the heavier felt Bore-Stores. If you're in a real humid area or don't have a GoldenRod in your safe , respray them every year or so with food grade silicone spray or tent sealant.

I stack my guns like cordwood so all my guns go into socks before they go into the safe for the exact purpose of protecting them from bumps and scrapes. Been using them for years with good luck.

Good or bad or a waste of money. I worry about nicking my long guns as I put them in/out of the safe.

I use them on everything for precisely that reason. Even my blued revolvers in the rack wear socks.

Also, if a blued gun is going to be in a foam/fleecy case or rug for any time I put it in a sock.

Am I the only one that keeps MoNags & SKSs in gun socks? :D

I bought what I hoped would be a lifetime supply when Dillon stopped selling them. I wish I could get some more for long guns.[they must breed in the safe when I close the door!] Nick
