I came across this gun and I'm curious what grip does this thing have?

it doesnt look like a packmyer or a hogue and I dont really know what the style is for this kind of grip but it looks like it would be a good alternative to a full size rubber packmyer grip for a J frame.

I don't know the model number or name of those, but I'm pretty sure they're an Uncle Mike's grip. Unfortunately, it seems like that company is no longer in the grip business.

To add to my original post. The reason I think mine might be Sile Grips is that they feel "cheap" when compared to any of the Uncle Mike's, Hogue or Pachmayr Grips I have, although I don't happen to have any name brand grips that they resemble.

I had a feeling they were a "knock-off" of a name brand so mine might be a cheap copy of the OP's grips.

Looks like a Rogers old stock Finger Groove Combat Grips for the J-Frame.

Yes those are Uncle Mike's Combat Grips. My 340-1, 317-1 and 60-10 all came with those.

+1 on Chad's ID. I don't believe they're made any longer. Good grip, although a bit long for the most effective concealment. I have several sets and have rotated them on and off my Js.

Those grips are Uncle Mikes 3 finger Combat grips w/ closed back strap for the J frame. I sold a pair to our friend photoman last year. My personal opinion the best grip out there for the J-frame Smith. They offer you back strap coverage and the addition of a 3rd finger to help hold the gun more securely. The Siles grips are not the same, they might look the same but not even close in quality, they are simply cheap knock offs. I believe the Siles can be bought new for around $6.99. 26

ah I see. I had this odd feeling it was uncle mikes but I wasnt sure.

and I've got a gunshop coming up in about a week so I'll keep an eye out for it there as I was looking for a longer grip for the 49 after last weeks range session with the smooth PGS grips its got on it.

as I kept getting a flyer every 4th or 5th shot because I couldnt get a good grip on the gun and the lack of a pinky rest started bothering my hand so I was thinking of going with the packs till I saw that.

Check our classified section or e-bay sir, the Uncle Mikes can go for anywhere from $20 to $35 depending on location and condition, best of luck, 26

I bought a pair of those Uncle Mike's for my old Model 49. They were comfortable to shoot but tended to hang up in my front pants pocket. I went back to the factory grips, with a Tyler-T added. Much faster.

Gunbroker has the Uncle Mikes grips quite often, which were licensed from Craig Spigel. CDNN has the Siles version in both wood and rubber I believe.

I have Uncle Mike's round butts on my J-frame 640-1, K-frame 13-3 and square butts on my L-frame 686-4P. I had some 2-finger boot grips for a 642, but swapped them out for a Crimson Trace. I have tried Hogue, Pachmayr, and even Ahrends and some other fancy wood grips...but I have never found a grip that worked better for me than the good old Uncle Mike's. I still see them on e-bay. FYI the holsters shown are all by Simply Rugged.

true I was thinking the same thing looking at it. so I may do the same thing or go for a checkered version of the PSG grips with finger groves if I find that happening to me as well. provided the checkering can keep it from slipping in my hand during a range session for pocket carry.

Those look a little like these Pachmayr grips. This is a K frame however.
