to pay for K or N frame MOP's?

After seeing some nice examples in the back room at Peterson's I have decided to start looking for a set. Just trying to find out what the current going rate is.

Thanks

I have a slight grip addiction. I've probably got 3 or 4 grips for every gun. I've also started accumulating pearls. I found a deal on a set of Ns for $50! and I paid $95 for some nice Ks. These are both low prices. I think I paid around $70 for my factory K rounds with gold medallions. I've been experimenting with doing small repairs on a couple sets of aftermarket I frames. Haven't found a perfect filler match yet, but I'm getting closer. I tried white epoxy and pearlized model paint with a touch of gold metalic paint. (this is just for small chips on the edges)

I think what I'll try next is grafting in a sliver from a scrap pair to try to fix a chunk missing on the front of one.

FWIW, I was at an auction a few weeks ago and a pair of oriental style dragon high relief carved K frames with a couple small rubies set in them went for around $400. I stopped bidding at $200 because I really didn't have a use for them, and they were a little too gaudy for my taste.

I've also been playing with mammoth ivory and hippo tusks to learn the art of making ivory grips. I could never make money at it because it takes me too long, but I turned out a really nice pair of white mammoth ivory I frames to put on my pre-36. I've accumulated a pretty good supply of all the medallion styles too.

Those sound like some I have! Never seen any like these before.
