Or are they all pretty much the same. I just started reloading and everyone here has been very helpful. I hope the kinetic puller will be OK. Hopefully!! I won,t have to many more screw ups. Not really to many mistakes so far, loaded a few without primers just to see how to seat and crimp correctly. Did screw up with the Lee Dies, seated 2 primed rounds too deeply, hence my post about how to remove primers from cases. Thank you. Bodyguard

RCBS is lifetime warrantied and a little pricey, but I've had it 22 years. The others, I question if you even get what you pay for. A good collet puller for the press is the Forester or the RCBS, these come in handy for large quantity mistakes. Ivan

The green one mentioned by Ivan is the only one I've used, so I'm not qualified to evaluate the competition.

Mine's old, I've replaced the rubber "o" ring and I may have even bought new chuck set for it?

I've banged away a few mistakes and also recovered bullets for use in other calibers many times.

I saw a Lee press mounted demo on youtube that looks great. That was at least two years ago, and it still hasn't been brought to market.

I bought a lot of 32 cartridges some years back and used an inertia puller to pull the bullets. For some reason the bullet pull on these loads was very strong and I completely destroyed two name brand pullers that I had used for years, one of them(all plastic) actually breaking in two.I bought a Quinetics puller and had no problem pulling bullets again.Granted, what happened was a worse case situation but the Quinetics puller came through where two others completely failed!

I have one of the green one's also.It works great. the "O" ring on my collet had broken. So I made a trip to the LGS to pick up a replacement,The guy behind the counter save yourself some money and use the shell holder from your press instead of the collet. went home and tried it. worked like a charm,Iam all thumbs when it comes to putting that little collet on a round anyway.:)

The Lyman has been working for me, but I really haven't used it that much so the jury's still out on that one.

Construction-wise they all seem to be about the same.

And though they look tantalizingly like a hammer, in that capacity they don't work worth a damn.

Any will work for the occasional need to break down a few rounds. If you ever need to disassemble a bunch, you are better off to use a press mounted puller even if they are much more expensive.

They'll all pull HEAVY bullets well... When you get into lighter bullets and a heavy crimp they eventually break. For the 12 or so dollars for a cheap one, they will save you far more money then that till they break.;)

OH, and flush seated wadcutters are VERY abusive...

RCBS, do not know if it is the "best" but it has worked well for me on many different calibers. I broke the screw on cap, I believe I accidentally pounded it on that side:o
Called RCBS, had a new one and inserts in a few days.

Just DON"T bang that plastic on METAL, or you could be having to go buy a new one......................

If you do use a metal surface use a towel or a softner, the hammer can shear off or crack, otherwise.

Haven't had to use it much for my stuff of course , but my 20+yr old Quinetics has pulled many hundreds of rounds of dud military ammo.

Even though it works, NEVER USE A SHELL HOLDER. Someone used one and had a high primer, the result was the bullet puller set the primer off when it contacted the holder.

As I mention above I have the RCBS and I also have a Frankfort A. It has a aluminum handle but the grip is narrower than the RCBS. I believe it has two different collets to mess with, I bought it on sale. I works but the RCBS is the one I reach for and it is lifetime warranty.

I use the Frankford Arsenal bought on sale. Perfect for pistol bullets, rifle bullets will destroy the collet quickly. For rifle bullets the RCBS press mounted puller is the way to go.

I just bought the blue one w/the metal handle (Frankford Arsenal) and it comes w/the different plate for the shells.
I left those in the package and just used the shell plate off the press for the particular cartridge.

Making up a dummy load today and had to rework it, hit it on the rug a few time in the house and good to go.

Just a thought-15 bucks from Midway and in stock.

Gotta agree with this idea. Works great!

Thank you Mister Parker, I've learned something new today. Makes the job easier for these old fingers.:)

Bought a mean green RCBS kinetic puller back in the mid-1970's, and it's still cookin'.
It's not used very often, but is handy dandy when something's just not quite right.
