My vote is for the 642, as I like the enclosed hammer, the aluminum frame (steel is a little heavy, scandium is a little light) and stainless construction (at least on the cylinder/barrel).

What's your favorite?

p.s. couldn't edit my grammar in the headline after I clicked post, haha

After bouncing through various J-Frame snubbies and a K-Frame snubbie,
I settled on a 342PD pre-lock... Won't rust and very light to carry... But it's not a plinker...

Sentimental favorite is a Model 36 RB with a grip adapter, but I carry a 640-1 more often. It's on my hip now, and there is a 442 in the drawer next to my elbow as I type this.

Itchy has her 642 within arm's reach as she watches TV in the other room.

J-frames? Nah, got no use for them.

Well now . . . . .

My favorite to shoot is my four inch Model 63.

My favorite to carry on the farm while I'm on a tractor or working on fence is my Model 36-1 three inch, in a Loboleather flap holster.

My favorite to carry in my pocket when I go to the evil environs of Macon, Columbus, or (God forbid) Hotlanta are any of my two-inch Chiefs Specials, usually a Model 60.

638. Love having the single action option. It's my only j frame now, but i've had others. It does what I need it to do; beside me near the computer as I write this, and in my pocket when I go out at night. The Spegels are real pretty.
