What is this revolver?

i just got a 686 no dash on trade and found some surprises in the original blue box. Can anyone shed some light on this for me? It says Andy Cannon IPCA compitition, 4" barrel,strangely cut like a massive crown. the cylinder is stamped CANNON and numbered as well. Pistol also appears to be nickel plated over the stainless?

Sounds like a custom gun built by Andy Cannon, a high quality custom Gunsmith. I think he has a website, check him out. You probably got the gun for less than half what it would otherwise cost you.

Welcome! We like photos, if you can post them.

It likely has a bright polish to the stainless - you can coat it with another material, but it would be easier to make the stock matte finish shiny.

As a note Andy Cannon passed away a number of years ago. Won't be another gun like it, enjoy and we'd love to see photos.
