What is this that came out of my Winchester Box?

I have some Danish 115 gr and some Portuguese 124 gr 9mm FMJ
ammo, both with the NATO cross stamp on the case head. Neither
is particulary "hot" ammo. The Danish 115 gr runs about 1175 fps
and the Portuguese 124 gr about 1140 fps in my Browning HP. In
contrast my WCC 124 gr NATO ammo runs about 1220 fps in the
same gun.

This tells me I need to check headstamp on WWB 9mm before paying at Walmart. I don't want primer issues or odd headstamps.

I have the same on my winchester ammo from walmart. I just thought the cross stamp signified a crimped primer.

Well, I just went out and pulled 3 with crimps from my clean decapped brass and Magtech primers slid right in without any problems.

I've fired both Winchester 124gr Nato and regular WWB 115gr recently. The Nato rounds also have primer sealant (red/pink) whereas the 115gr WWB rounds do not have the primer sealant. The 115gr WWB ammo is the same as other WWB except for the WCC, Nato cross and year of production markings. You would notice the +P recoil difference if you accidentally got Nato ammo in a WWB box.

Maybe they just had an overrun of NATO brass, and loaded 115gr w/thier normal load.

The pain in the butt is the crimped primers. Not fun when reloading.

You mean there are actually people out there who reload 9mm??

Not in my circles...............
