So many guys focus on N frames when making their Grail Gun list but there are so many unique K frames out there that I would like to hear your list.
As well as the uber rare (k-32 LERK, k-38 LERK, Mexican k-38 ....) What not often seen but not unheard of K's would following you home? 2" M&P's? Single address line post war k-22,32,38, ....

For me my grail gun is a K-22/40, but I won't be buying one unless I find a lost gem as the current prices are a bit prohibitive. On the other hand Pre-19s and K-22 outdoors mans are ones that seem to always come home when found. Even if they have been well loved.
Found my last 22 Outdoorsman locally from a guy who didn't want any trades unless it was a Glock =)
Here are some Pre-19s that still get shot often.

3 inch Model 19........I hear there are 50 out there somewhere!!!!!

A 3 inch "French" fixed sighted 19 would also be right up there!!!!!!

Fungunnin........ K-22/40 ???????????
Pre War K-22 Outdoorsman made post 1940. About 1000 were made with the new micro adjust rear site that became standard post war.

"Grail" means something you want badly but will never have so mine would be a Model 45 M&P in 22 Long Rifle with a 4" barrel. I know they can be found but no way I can bring myself to pay the asking price.

Very early combat masterpiece with gold box and all the trimmings. It's possible...

Grail....would also be the Model 45 M & P.

I do have some nice K-frames.

Model 19 no dash nickel 4"
Model 10 no dash 4" (My Dads service revolver)
Model 10-8 3"
Model PC13 3"
Model 13-3 3" (have 4 of them)
Model 14-2 4"
Model 65-5 3" Ladysmith
Model 64-3 3" (have 6 of them)
Model 18-3 4"
Model 15-3 4"
The twins...Model 19-5 2 1/2".....one nickel one blue

Any of Model 66 Collection..

Actually, I guess I do have a lot of K-Frames

Not that I'd call them "Grail", because I'm sure I'll pick them up eventually:

a) 32-20 w/a 5" barrel. This one because I have a Colt PPS in that caliber & it needs a buddy ;).

b) P&R'd Model 19, 2 1/2"

c) Model 13 or 65 4". This is most likely the next one once I free up some more funds.

Easy... a K-32 with narrow rib made in 1949 to go with my K-22 and K-38 of the same era and be from my birth year. :D I don't know for sure whether that would also make it a LERK, but I'd be happy with it either way.

Froggie

PS I wouldn't turn it down if it were wearing a pair of Ropers or Sandersons, but if it had Goodyears, I'd have to replace them before it went into the safe with its siblings. BTW, I'm with those who are really dreaming big here, think "Holy Grail" and a quest, not "Red Solo Cup" and a Saturday night quickie.

There are several rare K-frame models or varieties that I don't yet have in my safe and wouldn't mind owning or caring for over a few years before they move on, but I have been so fortunate in collecting uncommon K-frames in the last three or four years that I don't think I have the right to say something like, "But what I really want is..." It's just kind of insensitive to think that way.

As of about six months ago I have my one-time grail K-frame, a 1946 Mexican, but I admit there are a few more models i would happily acquire if I had the chance -- and the money at the time the chance presented itself. A LERK K-32 Masterpiece would be nice, not to mention a prewar K-32 first model. But I think there is a good chance I will never acquire one of these. No matter, I am just delighted to be responsible for the few rarities that happened to come my way.

Let me say that all the choices I see above are great models and worthy dreams -- and my wish is that you all get to realize those dreams at an early date and at a reasonable price.
