Saw this 27-3 about a week ago. Serial AVF 69XX, 5 inch, interesting markings on right side of barrel. If it's in the SCSW as a factory piece I didn't see it. Maybe home made. What do you think?

If the serial number is AVF 69xx someone likely put a FBI 50th barrel on it. The commemoratives had an FBI prefix.

I agree, someone swapped one of the left over 5" FBI barrels onto their existing revovler

The AVF serial number prefix was being used on current production guns in.....

February - August of 1987.​
