What models of the S&W 500 were available in black?

The only ones I'm aware of are the Bone Collector and the John Ross 5".

However, I've seen 6.5" PC guns pop up here and there that are black.

Does anyone know (or have a list) of models that were available in the black finish for this gun?

I have never seen a black 6-1/2" model. I have one in 7-1/2" that was 1 of 2000, and a 10-1/2" model that is 1 of only 2 that "I" know of.

as far as i know s&w is the only one that has that matte black finish and i think it started with there 351pd and spread to some air weights 340pd etc then to the nightguards 327 etc and last was the bone collector. others i can think of are the 637 and the 632 in there performance center i have been in there retail store with in the last year and i didn't see any others

Here's a picture of the last Bone Collector the S&W Retail had. I purchased it in dec-Jan.. The second pic is a little better with another 500 4" below it..

Why rely on what the factory provides, get it blackened aftermarket. Pick whatever X frame you want and send it to Birdsong for some Black-T (for a very reasonable price) and make your own...
