I've got a Shield M&P 45c on order and the spec sheet states that you get a 6+1 mag and a 7+1 mag. Every write up on the web says that both mags are 8 rounders, one with a pinkey rest. Are they both 8 rounders?

The specs on S&W say 6-1 & 7-1 so I'm guessing that is correct. That would be consistent with the other Shield models.

Just to clarify and prevent future confusion,
there is a M&P45 Shield, and a M&P45C, different models.
I.e., no C for the Shield.

You are correct. My answer was for the Shield not the C. Maybe that is why there is a confusion.

I'd go with Smith's numbers.

7+1 in the chamber is 8. I suspect that is what you are reading...

I'm wrong. It's a M&P 45 shield with a compact frame. I see on ebay they have M&P compact 8rd mags for sale and that's why I am wondering about the mag size.

The 45c does have an 8rd mag. The Shield 45 has 6-1 & 7-1.

What these guys said. You're reading about 2 different guns.

The M&P 45 C (Compact) is the compact version if the full size. It is the same gun with a slightly shorter slide, barrel and grip. It is still a double stack 45acp

The Shield is a single stack sub compact. Different gun all together
