Just committed to a trip to Dallas at the end of the summer. Going with a small group, not gun folks, though. What is there to do in the area? Eating BBQ and steak, is already on the agenda.

JFK Museum is interesting.

I don't know what else to tell you after that. Kinda sad for living here 30 years...

Check to see if anything is going on at AT&T stadium while you are there. They have a number of events there besides football games. I went to Supercross there last weekend, next weekend is a PBR event. Incredible venue for all kinds of things.

The zoo is good, as is the one in Ft. Worth. Both also have good natural history museums.

Read "The Third Bullet" by Stephen Hunter, then go visit the museum at the Texas Book Depository and the DalTex building. Walk the route along Main and Oak streets and get a feeling of that fateful day of 22 November 1963.

You can even take a tour for 25 bucks. It will be very hot still so you may want to plan indoor activities

For a gun shop that is more like a collectors gun room check out Jackson Armory......but honestly, Dallas in the summer even in October can be brutal with 100 degree heat.......you will come to better appreciate air conditioning.

Another vote for stopping at

Actually, I will be going to the UF vs UM football game. So I will get to see the stadium.
