What to do with "found" Combat Stocks

Combats were never standard on Model 19s so that would look wrong to me. However, they are equally wrong on Mode 66s but some how look right on 66s. Model 18s look best with Targets but the butts of those swell too much to be a great fit for me. Other than being the wrong vintage I'd argue that Combats are not out of place on any caliber Combat Masterpiece. That name was used for Model 18s as long as they were made.

Understood. I just think that the combination of the combats on a heavy barreled magnum would have good visual balance, and the thought of a .22 with combat grips just cramps my brain.:D

Have you never had a dangerously aggressive pop can roll down the the bank toward you at a gravel pit? Some times only quick DA work will save your toes. ;)

Somehow I doubt that "combat stocks" have been involved in many combat shootings. So, why did S&W put them as standard equipment on the 617 and on other "non-combat" revolvers such as the 16-4?

I've seen replica sq butt combats being sold on Ebay by one of those Thailand sellers. Close but no banana.
