Have a number of K frames now (most 4" and 6" barrels) what do you guys suggest for reasonable holsters --have no intent of use as "carry guns" just convenient range holsters. Any suggestions?

For something like that, I go to Ebay and search for "vintage K frame holster" or some other combination of words. 4 or 6" holsters are plentiful, but unfortunately sellers are getting wiser on value of some of the better brands. I know I picked up some pretty good ones for less than $50 over the last few years. My own favorites in used are Don Hume, Bucheimer, Safariland (but only the leather, not the polymer) and Bianchi. I must have a couple hundred by now, something for every gun in the safe.

I’ll second this. And many never issued, usually black, police duty holsters for K frames are available.

I'd look right here in our classified section. Always reasonabily priced leather goods for sale. Check out the thread starting with "Original Grips & Holster" in accessories forum by member Robbt, lots of nice clean old holsters in it at reasonable prices.

I like the Safariland model 25 or 29 holsters, especially for Patridge sighted guns as they have the neoprene sight track. The 25 has the strap and the 29 has a thumb break. My favorite in a 4 inch has neither, just an extension that extends up to cover the hammer for plain cloths carry. I believe those to be a model 1, at least that is the only number stamped on the two I have.

Gun shows and bigger shops usually have bins full of old LEO and trade-in leather.

You might post a WTB here. Most dedicated revolver fans who compete or carry have one or more drawers full old holsters & grips they’ve tried and aren’t using, or that came with a used gun they bought and will let them go for shipping.
