I'm looking to get a set of Trijicon HD night sights for my M&P 40c.

My question is in your opinion what phosphorescent front sight color would be best for daylight or brighter situations the Yellow or the Orange? I have the Crimson Trace laser grip and a S&W Micro90 weapon mounted light so the low light conditions are somewhat covered, and with the addition of the night sights it would just be another tool in the toolbox. I wish they only had one choice for the paint color I hate making decisions, so this is my way of trying to decide determining which would be better for brighter situations.

The deciding factor for me was the warranty on the front sight dot. 12 years for the yellow and 5 years for the orange. I have the yellow set on my FS M&P9 Pro and on my M&P9c. I absolutely love them and plan on putting them on my M&P45 soon (and my hopefully soon to be purchased Shield 9mm).

Well the HD's actually use 3 Tritium green lamps so they have the 12 year warranty, what I'm referring to is the phosphorescent paint that outlines the front sight Tritium vial.

The Trijicon HD sights all use only the GREEN tritium lamps, the front GREEN tritium sight is surrounded by either orange or yellow phosphorescent PAINT. So being they are the GREEN tritiums they are under the 12 year warranty. Trust me I wish it were the case because then it would make my decision a no brainer.

I just bought a set of Trijicon SA37 night sights from OpticsPlanet.com. They were a great price at $160 and I paid an extra $16 for 2 day shipping. I received and installed them on my M&P 40 tonight and they look great. I got all green dots, which have the 12 year warranty. I have been contemplating which brand of sights to get for a couple of weeks now. Glad that I went with the Trijicon SA37. I also like that they are easy to see in regular light. Which ever color you decide to go with, you'll like these sights.
