A lnib 4" gun, would blow the lungs out of a $1000 bill, if you could find one...

About 90% of the excellent condition non-performance center 629s that I've seen in stores over the last 2 years have been priced in the $600-$700 range. Except in the month or two before the deer high power rifle season opens, the shorter the barrel, the faster they sell or the more likely the store will price them nearer to $700. Vintage or dash number seems to have little to no effect on pricing unless they are pinned & recessed, which the stores all seem to appreciate. A great action job or a rough DA pull doesn't get factored into the price. That might not be the case if there were documents to demonstrate who did the action work.
I don't seek out "NIB" used guns so I'll leave pricing them to someone else.

K22 is right on it, $650 to $800, depending on condition, grips, box and documentation.

Don't worry though, one of the few, the proud will be along to Tell/BS you they buy them all day long at their local gun show for $450 or some ridiculous number, ignore them.

I paid 650 two years ago fell into a good deal I felt. I wouldn't sell it for that today, great gun.

Seen 629's off and on (all dash numbers actually) in the $600 range at my LG's.

Here in NH, I have never seen a tag for under $600.00 on any 629, nevermind just a 4". Trust me, I have looked for the $450.00 629, but I think you guys bought them all.

$550 at the LGS during the annual "Christmas Cash Panic" last December.
I scored 5 S&Ws in 10 days.

As its not P&R, the purists passed it by, I guess.
And its my best shooting 29, to boot!
