We hear that phrase all the time in credit card commercials. But I'm actually just asking that question.
A few weeks ago the was a thread on P-38 can openers, and someone mentioned they carried one in their wallet. I tried carrying one on a key chain 60 years ago and accomplished never opening a can. I did open my pocket enough to allow all my change to fall to the street and also opened my leg enough to bleed all over.
So today I put a new in the "instructive" wrapper Korean War surplus, P-38 in the change pocket of my wallet. While I was there, I took inventory of the useful and boring items in my wallet.
Last week's lottery ticket.
$47 in small unmarked bills
Credit card
Driver's license
Concealed Carry Permit
3 discount cards for stores or restaurants
A list of daily meds
4-3/4" band aides
2 golden dollars
a folded $20 bill for emergencies (like ice cream cones)
a new P-38
And last but not least 2 paperclips! I get a lot of "The Look" about the paper clips! They are different sizes and left over from my days repairing gas stoves. There is a ring that defused the gas into small jets of flame. When people boil over the soup or whatever they clog those jets. The small diameter clip for the small jets, and the large clip for the large jets. Just carrying them has saved me hours of trips to the truck to retrieve something to clean the jets. Boring but practical.
So, What's in your wallet?
Ivan
Nope, no photos of family!
