Thought I would throw this out for fun. Throwing asides the realities of having to pay for it, what would be your dream custom handgun? While having a Hi Power worked over by Cylinder and Slide or a 1911 worked on by Bruce Gray would be high on my list, I think I would have to go for a 610 Mountain Gun.

I know no such thing doesn't exist, that's where the custon part comes in. I think I would start with a Model 28 and then round butt it, have the cylinder and barrel re-bored for 10mm, cylinder cut for moon clips, chamfer the cylinder, gold bead front sight, Millet rear sight, have the whole thing NP3'd, professional action tune and then top it off with a set of factory finger groove combat grips.

A gun Smith & Wesson never made but should have. It would be a great carry gun for both woods and urban envrionments. Starting with a 28 sounds like a lot of work, but I can't think of another way to get a lighter profile barrel that could be bored up to 10mm.

When I was younger{ a long time ago} my custom handguns, which I still have, were 1911's made by Swenson, Heinie, Novak, Brown and Bill Laughridge of C&S. My rifles by McMillan, Brown, Bill Wylde and several M1A's by Hook Boughton of AMU fame. Now my custom handguns are S&W's worked over by Hamilton Bowen and stocked by our very own master, Keith Brown and for Ivories my favorite is Paul Persinger.

Actualy several matching guns except for caliber. I would want old craftsmen right at the S&W factory do the work.
All guns would have the old triplelock feature and all would have 4 1/2" barrels with matching ivory grips of my style. All would have similar gold square bead matching king mirror front sights. High gloss blue, case hardened king cockeyed hammers, smooth narrow triggers.
1. A K frame .22 LR with the enclosed ejector houseing like the model 53. Might as well throw in a jet clyinder.
2. A matching model 19 .357.
3. A N frame 29-2 in .44 Mag with the tapered barrel as the mountain gun.
4. The same gun in .45 colt.

I would want either Alphonso or El paso to make me up a reddish and black flower carved ranger belt and the two matching holsters. Would also have them make up matching leather suspenders to hook and hold the rig. Also want matching cases for speed loaders and a sheith for my special case knife.
If I think about this for awhile, I belive I could come up with better ideas.

Hey, also make up a to match .327 mag just like the model 53.

I want to build a big brother to the PC 13.

I want to take a model 58 frame and mate it with a 3" 657 barrel. Bob the hammer but have it checkered on top because I would retain the single action instead of going
DAO. Then mag-na-port it and have it reblued matte.

I want it to look just like the PC13, but be an N frame 41mag.

For years I contemplated cutting the barrel on my model 58 to 3 inches and round butting it. Fortunately, I came to my senses before I could afford to have it done.

I had my custom pistol built years ago while competing at the old Second Chance Bowling Pin Shoot.
It is a Para P14 frame with a Caspian slide and barrel with the Hybrid comp system. It has a stainless Commander-style hammer and is finished in electroless nickel.

It was a ruled a "Stock Gun" at the match since it wasn't any bigger than a five-inch duty .45.
It's been a while since I shot it but I'll probably use it in a steel plate match this July.

I saw some Cylinder & Slide BHP customs at the match and would love to have one of those too.

Another possibility is a blue worn M19, 2.5 inch, I have. It already has a good action job and I'm thinking of having it hard chromed.

Alright, since it's all make believe...
I'd like two model 15s in Nickle finish. Both square butt, one with a 2" and the other with a 4" barrel. Both would have a .400 smooth trigger and a .500 target hammer, 11# rebound slide springs and Pachmayr Gripper Professional grips.

And a pair of model 12s set up the same way would be nice too, but they can be blued instead of nickle.

A couple from Hamilton Bowen. In his book on custom handguns, he has a Ruger Blackhawk pictured done up to match a Winchester lever gun, with octagonal barrel, barrel band front sight, and some other goodies. I want it in .357 Magnum.

He also has another Ruger with a gorgeous ovate barrel and integral front sight, again in .357 Magnum please.

Then, the Ruger Redhawk converted to "1917 Pattern" but I want this one in .45 ACP or .357 Magnum.

Another one I'd like to have, I actually talked to the gunsmith about it before he passed away prematurely, is a Texas Longhorn Arms, Improved #5. To go with it, a TLA West Texas Flattop Target.

Oh yeah, a Turnbull SAA.

Ross Seyfried's #5 by Bowen...heck I could go on...

However, I'm actually in the planning stages for a Ruger GP-100 .357 (of course) carry gun by Gemini Custom.

Mine

I had Jack Wiegand build this for me back @ 86. I used to shoot the old PPC and IPSC with Jack when he was still located in Mountaintop. We became friends and I commissioned him to build this hybrid ParaOrd p-13 with a Colt Combat Commander slide, Meprolight sights and a bunch of other goodies. It's my SHTF pistol. Not for those with small hands. 14 rounds of .45acp in the hand makes a formidable close range weapon. Extremely accurate and fun! I know it's not quite as exotic as all the newer stuff out there but it's mine and paid for!:D

I want something that holds at least 15 rounds and fits in my pocket, that hits like a 44 mag but recoils like a 22 and only weighs 10 or 12 ounces, doesn't have much muzzle blast and comes with night sites and a match trigger for under $200 unless you'd take my old model 10 for it in trade. The ammo for it should be cheap and the finish should be something that doesn't scratch or tarnish. Oh yeah, and if you have a used one that I could have a little cheaper . . . and throw in a gun rug, snap caps, a holster and a box of ammo, too ?

Well, that's about what I used to hear from prospective buyers when I used to have my FFL and was doing NRA instruction classes . . . . :D

A few years ago I had Hamilton Bowen build my ultimate custom revolver, a 5" pre-27 converted to .44 Special. I opted for just about all the bells & whistles that Bowen offered at the time, total bill was $1,400.00. Worth every penny it is the finest finished best shooting S&W one could ever imagine. Mr. Bowen's craftsmanship is impeccable and he is a real gentleman who is a pleasure to do business with.

A pair of S&W Schofields made with modern metalurgy in 45acp with moon clips, one with a 3" barrel the other with a 5".

You can have this dream, but it won't be marked S&W. Just get a couple of extra cylinders for two Uberti Schofields and have them machined. ;)

I'd settle for a stainless steel XL-framed Triple lock in .577 Webley, with a 18kt call bead front sight that has that "band" all the way around the barrel like off of an African game rifle, lanyard ring and service grips made of figured black walnut and coin silver emblems, escutcheons and screw. Also a 18kt solid gold grip adapter would round it off nicely. :D

However, being more realistic...I'd like to have one of the USFA 1910 .45ACP pieces- silver plated.
