Hey guys, my new Scorpion .45 came with two 8-rnd mags. I'd like to buy three more 8-rnd mags. The factory ones are working just fine after 200 rounds. They seem to be of excellent quality, but I have no other brands and no experience to compare them to.

Being only $10 per mag less than Wilson, what are your guys opinions on which mags I should go with?

TIA!!!

Chip McCormick Power Mags have always been a good choice for me.

Nice....I see they have some 10 rnd mags for a good price. Would be nice for range visits. :)

I like the bottom plate style of the 10 rnd Chip mags vs. the bottom plate of the Wilson. But I like the follower of the Wilson over the metal style.

Is the Chip follower the metal style? Thanks guys.

I've had to replace the follower on WC mags. The plastic ones seem to chew up too fast. When they go, the last round will do a backflip as it clears the mag lips. Quite a show.

I've had good luck with Kimber Tac-Mags.

I have a Sig 1911 Spartan Carry.

Believe it or not, I've had great luck with the Brownell's brand of 1911 8-rnd mags. My favorites are Tripp Research Cobra mags!!

I also have a selection of Wilson ETM and ETM HD and Chip Power Mags.

They all work, as stated my favorites are the Brownell and Tripp Cobra mags. Next is Wilson, lastly is the Chip...

Sign up for the email notification on Wilson's site as they often run sales on their mags.

YMMV.

Thank you guys.....I hope to order some mags this weekend. :)

The only mags I use for carry or competition are the Wilsons.
Never had much luck with McCormack. I've heard good things about the Tripp mags, but never tried them.
Metalform makes the Colt factory mags. They are very reliable and cheaper than buying from Colt. BTW: if you have a .38 Super, the metalform mags are the best. Even better than Wilson. ;)

I've about 20 of the chip Mcormic mags for my 45's. Both ten round and 8 round, never any problems with either style 8 or 10 round capacity.Frank

I got one Chip 8 rnd Power mag in the mail today....got it all cleaned up and ready to shoot. Heading out shortly. :)

I use Wilson mags in my Sigs, however the for the Nightmare I carry a Chip due to the flush floor plate. All are eight round mags. I use the Wilsons as my off-side backup magazines.

Wilson mags are pretty good. I run Tripp Cobra mags in my 1911's. They will even cut down a 10 round 38 super mag to Commander size if you ask them.

The mags your Sig came with are Checkmate made. Same for Ruger, Springfield Armory and others. Good mags! Check 44mag.com for best pricing and free shipping. I've bought a bunch from him then added a WC plastic bottom. I also have WC 47D's and while excellent mags are getting up there in price.

Hey guys, don't know if you're interested in a video, but it's just something I enjoy doing. No matter the hobby I'm partaking in, if I'm having a good time then I usually take the time to make a video every now and then.

Thanks again for all the input on mags. No doubt I will be ordering more mags when the funds are available. :)
