Who said Glock was first? Remington Nylon 66

Now that is a great DOUBLE score! I have a Marlin 39A Mountie also.

Where do you live that has a 10 day wait for a rifle?? California? Here in Fl it is 3 days for hand gun or none if a CC permit and no wait for a rifle/shotgun. I guess because those are not dangerous and you can't hurt someone with a 12 gauge or AR 15 etc. But I digress. You will now have two of the nicest 22 rifles.

Paladin and others,

I am sure you know about this website yes?:

Hi OCD1,
I live in California.

Yes, I was lucky to find two on my wish list.
The Marlin 39a and the Remington Nylon 66 Apache.

To save on Dros, the staff at the shop tried to convince me to purchase
two other .22 rifles that I was drooling over, but I told them I'll sleep
on it.

The other two where....
Winchester 03 Semi-Auto .22 Rifle
and a Browning Semi-Auto 22 Grade I takedown .22 Rifle.

Sleep? What's there to sleep on? Buy them ALL!:D
(I wish:()

I may inherit a Browning/Remington Speedmaster some day if I'm nice to my Father in Law.:)

Rocketdog, That looks like a good book, I'll try to find a copy.

I remember when they came out, but I had a perfectly good Marlin .22 at the time. The odds of having TWO guns that could do the same job were very low, and so it took me another 40 or so years to get one.

Always liked their looks, balance, and lightness. They were light years ahead of their time and frankly still ahead of the pack.

When I was 16, I had a job at Woolworth's and they had a Winchester 9422 that I begged my father for. He was convinced I'd shoot my fingers off loading it and wanted to get me the Remington 66 as it loaded through the stock. Short story is that John Wayne didn't shoot plastic guns, so eventually I got the Winchester, and HE got the Remington (mine cost more than double!). That was back in '79 or '80 and we both still have our favorite .22 rifles. I must admit though, his is more accurate (could be me...).
