Why is it, whenever I want to buy something its a "little Jewel",
but when I want to sell it , its an "old scab"????

Because people who are buying, want to buy at the lowest possible price and those selling are wanting to get as much money as possible. It's all about greed!

Maybe you should take better care of your things ;^) okay not really.

For dealers rule one is: you make your money on the buy not the sale. Reality is the selling price is something the seller has little control over. The market sets the real selling price; so, they have to buy at the very best price. That means they look at a used gun with very critical eye when judging condition. It is the purchaser to do the same when buying from a dealer.

Plus over the years I find that many gun owners tend to grade their guns at a much higher level than reality when they look to sell. It isn't all that unusual to have a person looking to sell their used gun to say; it is excellent condition with less than a box of ammo shot but the gun looks like it has been sitting in the bed of their pickup for the past 20 years.

I came to the conclusion that the only way to sell a firearm is via an auction, with live bidding and listed on the internet. it seems any gun I am interested in several others also want it and the bidding goes much higher than I expect. I have sold a few this way and am convinced is the way to get the most for your guns. I have also bought several, but find my best buys are at LGS or Gunbroker.
