Well, I'm old and have bad knees and lungs; can't run, can't breathe, would have no chance in a fist fight anymore, and am not quite ready to die yet. There seem to be some limits to what I could do to defend myself with my cane.

Like someone else has already said ... when seconds count the Police are minutes away. You can add that according to the Supreme Court the police are under no obligation to protect citizens ... You need to be able to protect yourself.

Glad you cleared that up. You have heard about the two guys that were under the influence of a distilled spirits, they saw a dog cleaning himself. One gentleman said I wish I could do that. The other man said before you do I would pet the dog first.
