Why no m&p pro 40?

I think they must have jumped on the 9 for IDPA and USPSA Production class. There are suppose to be a handful of the 5" 40s' out there, but last time I called they weren't going back into production till Oct. I've got one on B/O at several distributors and think they would make a great USPSA Limited gun on a budget, instead of $1,500-2,000 2011s' or Paras'. S&W is loosing sales to the Glock 35 and XDMs' that they could be getting.

I agree on the lost sales, and fact that it would make a great budget limited gun, and even a better limited 10... I have thought of ordering the slide and building one up on my 9mm frame. None of the pro models are Cali compliant, so the build-up is the only way for me.

I highly recommend the Pro .40 with 4.25" barrel. It comes with tritium sites and an excellent trigger job. I have really been impressed with the accuracy I was able to achieve. I got an Insight light for the rail so that the .40 can serve as my nightstand gun. What was really sweet was that I was able to get it for $600 out the door.

JETGuns has a 4.25 Pro 40 for $584., in stock.

Ok Jetguns does list it as a pro but according to the part number they list and researching it on S&W's site, I come back with the same pistol but not a PRO..

Jetguns may portray it to Pro standards.

I'm confussed. Looks like the correct # to me. #178036. That # on the Smith site shows a 40 Pro 4.25.

I had my dealer call all of his distributors yesterday and only one of them had even seen a 40 Pro 5" barrel and that was only ONE. That was in Indianapolis and this dealer has a lot of contacts so they must be really hard to get. In fact only one of these distributors even HAD a 9mm Pro in stock. Needless to say, it isn't in their stock any more. Hopefully it will be in my hand tomorrow!
