Why was the .357 mag developed? Loading my 340 up

A .357 revolver is IMO one of the most versatile weapons out there.

Something like a S&W R8 cut for moonclips, and you've closed the capacity gap with a 1911 with not much of a loss in reload time.
 
38+P Golddots

The Gold dot 38+P round penetrates car doors and all the rest of the FBI protocol barriers and still penetrates 10-13 inches. You don't need a 357 for car door penetration anymore.
 
It's not hard to penetrate today's car doors:)

The doors on my Dodge are plastic, a .22 LR could probably penetrate them:cool:

But I don't know if a +P could punch through the thick steel doors of a '40 Ford or a car like that.......those cars almost seem like a light armored vehicle compared to today's vehicles.:eek:
