One evening, a husband read an article to his wife about how many words women use a day:

“30,000 to a man's 15,000”.

The wife replied: “The reason has to be because we have to repeat everything to men”.

The husband immediately turned to his wife and asked: “What?”

Doesn't help they spend more time thinking about what we're thinking than we actually spend thinking. Thus the verbal overflow.

my wife has cut down on the talking part and replaced it with alot of hand and finger language

After I built a laundry room cabinet, my wife complemented me on my fine work before the but. "BUT, you didn't make it the way I told you I wanted it." Then I really messed up by confessing that her instructions went on so long that after a while all that I heard was, " blah blah blah." My married life changed from that moment on.

It was explained to me this way.... women do not burp and do not f@rt,... if they didn't talk,... they would explode....

My wife starts a conversation or asks a question about things she's thinking about but never tells me ahead of time what she's referring to. I hesitate with my answers because I have to search my mind first to figure out what she's even talking about. Then she gets mad at me for not answering right away saying I ignore her. When I tell her she has to give me what she's thinking BEFORE she asks makes her even more mad. I guess I'm supposed to be able to read her mind and be ready for anything. I can also "tune her out" at times which is even more dangerous to me. When she's talking to our daughter, I tune them both out and they'll suddenly ask my opinion of something that I never even heard. Then they're both upset that I don't listen. Most of what I hear of their conversation has been blah, blah, blah.

I'm too old to change my ways. I've told her that she's put up with me for 47 years and she should know what to expect.

That made me chuckle, as I often say to my wife; "Honey, I'm going to the basement, be right back." and while I'm down there she just keeps on talking............. we're the only two people that live there too! It happens way to often to just think "she didn't hear me", she just can't stop talking........
