Well I went to the Berea Ohio last weekend and there before my eyes was a gentleman selling a Wildey and 250 rounds of ammo with it. Wanted 3500 bucks though .. ouchies. But honestly I never expected to see one in real life though. So interesting anyway

Was at a show a few weeks ago, a guy had a Wildey and an Auto-Mag 44mag in the same showcase. Can't remember the last time I saw either one of these. Didn't see a price. Either they weren't for sale or, like the Rolls-Royce dealer says, "I you have to ask how much, you can't afford it."

Over the years I've seen a few for sale but the ammo seems a lot more rare than the gun!

always liked the Wildey since I saw Charles Bronson use it effectively in one of his 'Death Wish" movies. He de-gilggled the evil Giggler character at 60 yards running with nary a bobble and then stuck his piece in his pants and strolled away casually.

I had to tell my wife that "its all a movie" but she still wanted one. Got her a nickel Model 539 so she is happy now.

At least she shoots with me and knows about guns.

I've got one. It's a Cheshire Gun in .45Win mag. Double action with a decocker. Hilarious. I'm trying to qualify with it as an off-duty (but Sir, it's a .45 caliber, just like SOP says...!). I love mine. It's accurate, and the recoil isn't too bad. Now, I'm not sure if that's due to the gas system, or the fact that it weighs over 4lbs. I got mine from CDNN back in 1999, when they were $800. In my travels, I had a chance to pick up 2 more magazines, extra grips, and extra recoil springs. Doesn't quite have the wow-factor of my Automag, but still a lot of fun.

I got my first Wildey back in 93. It is a 45 Win Mag.

I only picked up my 475 Wildey about 10 years ago. It also is a 10"

I love shooting both of them.

I spent a bit of time with Wildey Moore many years back when he was producing the Wildey pistol with the Colt name on it. Only 20 of those were made as Colt decided against adding the big gun into their lineup.

Yes it is. The .357AMP is a pretty wicked caliber. The recoil isn't bad, but the muzzle flash and report are crazy. I haven't loaded for it in awhile, but this thread has whet my appetite.
