Wondering if a 910 slide will fit AND WORK SAFELY on a 6946 frame.

I know it will be "short" around the hammer; but if it fits and works I don't mind the extra safety of having a safety on a DAO pistol. (I'm getting nervous in the service in my old age.) (And yeah, I could just carry my 6906 and problem solved, but I was just wondering [and someone is offering me a 910]).

Thanks.

Nope.

910 slides/frames don't have front rails like the 6946, so the 6946 rails will block installation of the 910 slide when you try.

I forgot about the "economy line" guns being a bit different from the 915.

Yup.

915 slide will work.

It has the front rails.

915 also has the locking lug in front of the chamber, just like the "full price models".

915 lost the rails, lug, and slide profile when it was further "economized" into the 910.

Thanks fellas. I'm gonna pass on the 910 as I've got a very nice 5946 that a member here converted to DA/SA and really smoothed it out. Doesn't get any better than that.

"Doesn't get any better than that." (!?!)

Blasphemy!

Why putting 910 slides on 6946 frames was the reason Paul Liebenberg formed the Performance Center and not being allowed was the reason he quit! ;)

But we can come close...

I can put my 410 slide on my 4043 frame and it would look just as cool. :D
