Will MI drop in handguards fit?

Since the magpul moe midlength handguards fit, will these MI 2 piece drop ins fit?

Midwest Industries: SS-Series Two Piece Drop-in Handguard

In theory they should, although many folks have indicated that it takes a lot of pressure to get the MOE handguards installed. I would contact MI though and ask. They have an M&P10 that they used for the KeyMod free-float tube pictures. Maybe they'd be willing to test it out for you. :) I'd love to know now too.

EDIT - I'm not a gunsmith, nor do I pretend to be one in real life or on TV. Take my post with the proper number of grains of salt. :)

I suspect the front cap will have to be triangular; but yeah I'm gonna need to call them to see

I bought the MI hand guard when I bought my M&P 10. It seemed to hang up at the delta ring end at the gas tube during installation. I was unwilling to try and force it for fear of damaging the gas tube. I elected to go with another option I found.

I had installed and still use a couple of the carbine length Gen II drop ins on my MP15's, fit was perfect, no wobble. However, I received this answer from Midwest Industries when I inquired about their drop-ins compatability with the MP 10 back in May of this year: "None of our drop in hand guards will fit the M&P10. It is considered a mid-length gas system but uses a round hand guard cap instead of the standard triangle cap, making most mid length hand guards not compatible with it."

That's a bummer. Especially because MI stuff is tip-top.

Does the top rail line up even with the upper's rail? In other words, is it like a DPMS low version?

Yes, it is a perfect fit with perfect alignment of the rail height and matching the rail width. I'll post a couple of photos tonight after I get home. I should mention that I id change the gas block to a Noveske similar to the one show on the Midwest manufactured gas block on their website. And the factor S&W is a beast to remove too.

That is good to know, thanks. I have been debating as to how I wanted to proceed with mine, which is still factory stock at the moment.

Since buying my first Bushmaster Dissapator nearly 16 years ago, I've been a huge fan of the Dissapator look on my AR's, so using the 15" forearm with the M&P's 18" barrel was an obvious choice for me. I think once you have had a chance to see the photos you will like how my rifle looks (I hope). I also went with a Surefire flash hider.

Sorry for the delay. As promised, here are the photos of my MI hand guard. Enjoy.

Looks like a nice slim forearm/hand guard, did it come with any accessories or tools?

If anyone needs/wants a Magpul for the stock gun, I just pulled a near new one off for my MI float install.

Half price seems fair to me!

It came with three 2-1/2" rail sections and screws to attach it to the hand guard. Midwest's online ad says it comes with a bipod stud and barrel wrench but mine didn't so it may be an advertising mistake.

Here is the ad I'm referring to:

Midwest Industries: D.P.M.S. .308 SS-Series

Thanks for all the comments guys.

I got an email response back from MI stating they won't fit either.
I'm waiting for the MP10 to come back from the repair center.

I'm curious if the new ALG EMR will fit.
