Here's Willie Nelson telling the story of, and playing, his famous beat up guitar...

So does Woody Harrelson (imagine yellow smile face here). Many years ago, he let me play it for about a minute. It played well and didn't have as much bottom end as I would have thought but that is all irrelevant as it all gets washed by the front of house engineer.
PS: besides music,we also share another fondness.
It is an ugly guitar with a great sound!
Does it really sound better than other Martins of the same age and model?
I really like it the same way I prefer blue worn well used guns that are still mechanically perfect. They are much more interesting than new shiney ones. But that guitar takes honest wear to a new level. I think it said he got the guitar in 1969. That's not all that long ago for it to get that worn it seems. Unless you play it exclusively every day and every show 48 years. It might be aesthetically unpleasing but IMO it is great looking as it is honest wear.
It is not wore from being blatantly abused.

As far as I'm concerned Dyan Cannon was IT in Honeysuckle Rose. Then I met my wife in the 80s who is Hispanic and she had the same hair and face shape but only 4'11".
Matt, I recall, a while back, commenting on that photo that your wife has Ruthie beat by an inch. Good things come in small packages.
Ponytails??
That they do. Yet she can still kick my.....Guys can keep their tall super models. I'll stick with my petite little fajita pita firecracker. As far as I'm concerned Dyan Cannon was IT in Honeysuckle Rose. It looks like Hendrix already did, Crazy Uncle!Interesting story on Willie's guitar. Just don't let Pete Townsend borrow it!
