Actually, he claims his birthday was yesterday :) I think he just wants an extra day to party!

One of my favorite late night, out on the balcony, sippin whiskey on a starry night tunes from BOTH these guys, BUT together even better!

Let's see....81 years old, smokes weed by the pound, rides around the country in a big old tour bus playing to sell out crowds, comes home to Texas to rest and eat bar b que.

I'll have what he's having :D

I like Willie's music a lot, but have no respect for him personally... lifestye and opinions. Sad for me that I have a hard time of separating my feelings.

I wish a lot of entertainers would stick to entertaining and sell their soap boxes. Not just Willie but most of the rest of 'em as well. (and atheletes too!)

More to this country artist that you may not know?

He raised over $120,000 for the victims of the WEST, TX explosion. Nelson gave the WEST FIRE DEPARTMENT a check for $81,000 and the town of ABBOTT, TX, his hometown, $40,000.

Willie organized the first Farm Aid benefit concert in '85. So far the charity has raised over $12 million to help farmers.

His charitable work is vast and his contributions and gifts to established charities are large and impressive. Willie Nelson has become known for his incredible generosity, compassion, and charitable heart.

You may know him as a country music star but you may not know he's been practicing Korean martial arts for 20 years.

Willie Nelson is always on our minds, but especially this week, because he’s celebrating his 81st birthday. And also because on Monday, the legendary singer received his fifth-degree black belt in GongKwon Yusul, a martial art which he’s been practicing for 20 years.

“It’s just good for you physically. For your lungs. The more you’re breathing, exercising, the better you’re going to feel.”

Willie Nelson, the country music icon who turns 81 this week, smiles as he receives his fifth-degree black belt in the martial art of Gong Kwon Yu Sul on Monday, April 28, 2014, in Austin, Texas.

Yes he's a talented artist, but that's it.

No use for the man. Just another know it all elitist.

Saw him perform some years back. Came out played his songs did not crack a smile or interact with the audience. Beat up old guitar with a hole in it and dressed like he just came in from cutting the grass. Saw Tony Orlando a few months later and he put on a great show and looked like he was enjoying what he was doing.

Probably helps offset the effects of Yu Bong Tu.

That's it! They can do a tour together. Tony Orlando and Yawn.
