There was one advertised for sale in the classifieds last night and I moved quickly to post "I'll take it".

I remember them being listed in the Wilson catalog back in the late '90s. Does anyone have one of these? I found on another site a scan of the catalog, just over $1k for a 2 1/2"er, $670 for a customer supplied gun. Features included an action job, night sites, carry bevel, stippled backstrap, matte finish. I'm really excited about being able to get one of these. Thanks Lou!!!

I remember them well from an article that I think was probably in Shooting Times back then. They looked to be a great revolver. I had one of the Weigands 640 packages done around the same time. It was great. I later sold it and wished that I hadn't because they are now worth a bunch.

I remember those. Seems like perfect mods for a K-snub! Always have a "package" in the back of my mind, but I've never had the guts to modify a stock S&W. I may do it!

The article was in "Handguns" magazine in the mid to late 90's.

As I recall, Wilson didn't actually do the work, but subcontracted it to another custom gunsmith.
Last I heard, he still offered the package.

Sorry, I can't remember his name.

You can still buy the hard grips from Brownell's in either smooth or rough.

Vic Tibbets was the gunsmith at Wilson Combat who did these 66's.

He left Wilson for awhile and did more of these conversions while out on his own too.

He was back at Wilson Combat as of last year. Might be worth a call to him to see if they will do any more. Regards 18DAI.

Lucky Guy! You beat me to it by a little over an hour. I've been looking for one of these for over a year...

Nice find at what seems like a really good price for that piece. I remember those being advertised. I'd buy one now, but wasn't into revolvers at the time... young and dumb.
