If that was the rifle my cousin had, which I often used for squirrel hunting back in the forties, it is a truly unique rifle. Loads through a port in the stock like a Civil War Spencer, chambers by pushing a rod sticking out of the forestock, it fascinated me. But it requires a special cartridge, which I have not seen for sale in decades, which means it is almost a museum piece now. Sad.
