Has anyone used Winchester 22LR333 in a S&W Victory 22? I used it all the time in my old M22 with no problems but in my new Victory, it will not feed, seat or eject properly; almost as if the case neck or bullet is slightly too large. Winchester is having me return the 620 or so rounds I have left for a refund but I am hoping they find something wrong with the ammo since that is often the easiest 22lr to find.

Have you tried that ammo in any other .22 guns to see if similar tightness exists in their chambers? Have you measured the case neck and bullet diameters using a caliper or micrometer? Not to say it couldn't be a factory QC problem, but that would be very unusual.

Don't have the tools to measure the ammo but it seemed fine in my lever action Henry which is the only other 22 I have. All the other ammo I had (Federal, Herter, Thunderbolt and Armscor) all worked fine in the Victory.

I'm just finishing up a box of 333 that I bought a couple months ago in WalMart. It goes through my 1522 carbine fine, but my 1522P does not like it that well.....it will fire 8 -10, no problem then stove pipe an empty case. Fix the jam and go through maybe up to 20 rounds and then another stove pipe. Very inconsistent. I'll just finish up this box in my Marlin 39 and Remington 510. They both digest any thing you put in them :D

I couldn't get more than one or two at a time through. Then one would either fail to fully feed or fail to fully seat but then would not eject unless I pushed it out with a wooden rod. Gave up after having to clear the gun about a dozen times in only two magazines. If Winchester didn't say to send it back for a refund, I would have just kept it for the Henry. I'm wondering if they know of a few bad batches?

Bulk Winchester rimfire cartridges are best relegated to revolver or single shot use only. I've found it to be just about the worst rimfire ammo available.

It is, though, better than nothing if that's the only alternative.

Win 333, same as Win555, Win Western, etc. is pretty low budget, loose bulk plinking ammo. It works equally well in most if not all of my 22LRs, including my Victory. I plan on never buying anymore once I shoot up my stash because I get plenty of DUDS...you can see why in the image.

I've hit a few of those duds with loose bullets, low powder, etc. but nothing like what I had with this last batch. Hoping Winchester finds it was a bad batch and that it is not the new norm for this ammo. It is often the most available option out there.

Could be gun specific. My SR22 won't reliably cycle Winchester bulk. My LCP 22 eats it like candy.
