Ive been using federal 550 bulk packs, and CCi's and the only issues Ive had were a couple FTFs (as noted in other threads) and ZERO FTEs. The other day at dicks sporting good, i picked up a 500 ct. dynapoint box. I just ran one and a half mags thru, and had 3 FTEs, and a few times, the hammer didnt even reset!

Has anyone else used this stuff? its not the end of the world, as I can just run the stuff thru the old school marlin. (which eats ANYTHING!) have you had the same results?

ya ive crono them they r just barly super sonic and if its hot out side they arnt super sonic.. pretty much junk for the 15-22... works fine threw a bolt gun though

mine will run them now but ive polished the bolt and hammer surfaces... and mated them

modified the back of the bolt with a sightly larger radius and polish the 2 surfaces to create less resistance... john norell has been doing 10/22s that way for many years to get them to run soft ammo reliably

If that don't work I've got a booster to screw on it

yeah... oh well.. Live and learn!

it just gives me a good excuse to try some aguilla!

I've tried the 40gr Aguila Golden Eagle Target rounds and they are terrible in the 15-22! Don't waste your time with them. They are very weak. Lots of FTF's and FTE's. Lots of wax and an odd smell to boot.

ok, cool. good to know. I know the aguilla..(cant remember the name now.. the hi-test stuff) steps out a little faster than the stingers, but.. at the same time, Im not going to be buying them in bulk. so, screw it.. Ill stay with stingers for varmints!

Any pictures of this mod?

The booster is just a very lightly poted muzzle tamer it helps a blow back gun build back pressure just like a 1919s booster controls its rate of fire... the more back pressure the faster it will cycle or in th 15-22 it may just be enough to make it cycle... I believe u can look on john norrells page and it gives pics of it on a 10/22 but if I can think of kit when I get amin ill get pics.
