After picking up 2000 rds this past weekend I took them to the range to put through my Sig 220 well she spit them out like pumpkin seeds. I only have one other .22 a Henry. Guess I will continue my search for a good low cost .22 revolver to use them up.

You need to get a 15-22 that will help you get rid of the excess .22 ammo.:D There have been lots of sub $200 .22 revolvers lately.

I interpret that he was "not" satisfied with the M22. It's hard to guess why from his post. I have a 500 box I bought over a year ago, but have not had the time to try them, and If I had it would have probably been in a revolver, which eats anything.

Just so I am sure what you mean, are you satisfied or dissatisfied with the Winchester M-22?
Sorry , but I meant not satisfied, at least in what im shooting I have tried many different ammo the one that is best is Federal target match followed by Aguila super max , CCi minis , stingers. I am interested in getting a Rossi plinker revolver, reasonable at 299 to shoot my excess .22's

Didn't know they made a conversion unit for the 220.
Who makes it?

Winchester has not made any decent rimfire ammo since moving to MS. My buddy worked at the East Alton plant and told me that it was a year after the MS plant opened before they could get anything off of the line that worked at all. I liked the older ammo but the newer stuff is **** just like the Remington bulk .22's.

I am getting a Rossi model 98_106 .22. They seem to be a good double action 22 with adjustable rear sight. 299.00.rather have a Smith or Ruger s p 101 they are about twice as much. I'm just putting holes in paper
I also have the model 27 but that needs to be checked out for a problem ,shooting double it will sometimes lock up

I must be in the minority. My 15-22 runs like a bat out of hell on M22. Probably got close to 3000 rounds of it run through and I can count on one hand the number of failures.

Got this from SIG on 11/20/2014 so they sell them."Convert your SIG SAUER P220®, P226®, P228®, or P229® pistol to a .22LR with the Classic .22LR Conversion Kit for only $199.95 plus FREE shipping while supplies last!"

That's a very good price mine was 285 a year ago

Some guns are fussy about what they shoot the Sigs are known to be one
A friend has a Ruger series three target and shoots m22's all day with no problems

I still have no idea as to what the problem was that caused you to be not satisfied - misfires? jams/malfunctions? poor grouping? Something else? And what does "best" (above) mean?

I have not had the (dis)pleasure of trying out M22. However, we have a young woman who has become quite well-known shooting 22 rimfire steel matches. Her dad is very enthusiastically supporting her shooting.

I noticed at a local match recently that her 10/22-style rifle was malfunctioning. Her dad told me she was using M22 which was misfiring regularly. He says they use only CCI Minimags for the "money matches".

I just scored a two brick box of the Winchester 40 grain M22's but have not opened them yet. I do hope they perform reliably. I have noticed lately that the Winchester brand of rimfire ammo has gotten less reliable and only buy them in a moment of desperation. I much prefer Federal and CCI but unfortunately so does everybody else and they are difficult to get.
