Years ago I read an article that some Winchester Model 100s had firing pins that were defective and had to be replaced. The serial numbers of the defective rifles was supposed to be published, but I never saw it. Does anybody know if such a list exists, and, if so, where I might find it?

Thanks! I think that's what I'll do.
I dealt with this back in January on a .243 carbine that’s been in my family probably since new. When you call they will look up your serial and advise if it’s been done ( meaning has anyone requested a new pin using that serial basically ), you will need to first send your original pin to them and they will send a new firing pin, and also separately a check for $30 I think.
And yeah, they’re a bit of a trick to get reassembled as most will attest to.
