Rummage Sale near by this morning. Thought I'd
quick stop in to see what they had.

I asked if they had any Fly Fishing stuff, "Yep two
Rods/Reels in the Garage corner.

Seen the Fly Rods at the same time spied a Single Shot
Shotgun on near by table. Sorta recognized it.

Unbelievable! a Winchester Model 37A Gold Trigger 12Ga
Break Open Single Shot. $100 it said, snatched it up with
the Fly Rods/Reels.

The significant of the Winchester was that as a young man,
I once had the "Long Tom" version. Traded it off at some
point.

Kept telling the Owner, I couldn't believe I found this.
Told Owner not to worry, it was going to a Good Home
and would be well taken care of.

Several hours later, among errands and chores, just
got done cleaning it up some. Has been Used, a few
Blemishes, some Finish is issues, but Hey! it's mine now.

Mechanically great shape, all works, and Bore did swab
out shiny. Trigger pull is really good too! Unbelievable.

Cleaned up the South Bend Fly Reels too. Haven't got to
the Fly Rods yet.

A few Pictures, and as usual no fancy Pictures from this guy.

I got one for Christmas when I was 14 years, and my nephew has it now. It's in great condition, served me well. Mine was a 12 ga with a modified choke.

Cast N Blast

Please expound why "I Stole It"?

This 37A has a few slight Cosmetic items, but
Mechanically Sound, and Bright Bore, beautiful
pressed checkered panels, defiantly Shooter Grade.

Is there something Special about the Winchester
37A Gold Trigger 12ga 32"Bbl full choke?

It is Roll Marked "Made in Canada".

Serial Number is C671xxx. Circa late '70s?

Thank you in advance.

Hit and Run

It's been over a Week. Still wondering about "You
Stole It". It's not a .410 Gauge.

It's just a Break Open Single Shot. Well used.
$100 Buck appears to be in the correct price range.

They were quite popular when I was a kid in the 70’s/80’s....my cousin had one in 20 Guage, I always thought it a classy single shot-a step above the H&R Topper models which were probably more popular because they were even less expensive......used to see the 37 all the time at pawn shops and gunshots in the 70-150 dollar range...nowadays at gunshows I see guys trying to flip them at shows for $200 and more. Almost all the farmers I knew had one single shot 12 leaning somewhere. Every one of them I have seen had the tell-tale from a distance gold plated trigger which also appealed to us young boys then.... I had a Savage 24 so was kinda another step above my cousin as he wanted to trade.....nope my 24 still with me now 40 years lol

I was not the poster accusing you of stealing...but my guess is he thought it was a really good deal. $100 for a $150 gun is a 33% discount. :)
