Won a Winchester Pump Shotgun last night in a raffle-Tried to find out about it on the net but pretty sketchy info out there. All I know is that it is made in Turkey is camo has three inch chambers and comes in a bright red Winchester box. Action feels pretty slick but other than that I don no nutin'

Probably a model 1200 Winchester, and most likely a 12 gauge magnum caliber. Is it "new in the box"?
Look on the barrel and receiver,,,, all the information should be there.
Post this info here, and I can tell you more.
It also has an excellent reputation for a modern model.

Interesting. I didn't know Winchester was selling Turkish-made guns. I can't say I am surprised. I have read that the Turks are presently making very high-quality guns and their manufacturing facilities and equipment are equal to anyone's.

Winchester made by different manufacturers since the New Haven plant went belly up back around 2006. Think F/N got the rights to make the Model 70. I know Miroku of Japan makes the Model 1873 and others.

First of all congratulations on the win. The SXP (Super X Pump) is the old 1200/1300 gun. I was not aware it was being made in Turkey. I got a 1200 in 1964 and still have it.

When I got on the job my agency had just transitioned from Winchester Model 97's to Winchester 1200's. They told us they were stainless but I suspect they were satin nickel. Great pump guns but the rifle sights broke off constantly. Ended up having a gunsmith knock off all the sights and installed beads. They lasted 20 or so years before I traded them off for 870's with bead sights, extended magazines and speed feed stocks. Congrats on your prize; great design with a lot of history.

I have a 12-gauge skeet-grade 1200 which I have used since the early 1970s until I gave up skeet shooting about 15 years ago, and it has been excellent. For a long time I used it for 12-gauge Skeet and it got a lot of use, never any problems. Not too many shooters use pump guns for Skeet, but I did, and it worked fine for me.

At one time, Winchester had a chain of franchised trap and skeet ranges around the country, but it wasn't successful and didn't last long. You could rent Winchester guns at those ranges, and mine was one of those rental guns, but it had not been used much when I got it.
