This is only 5 miles from my front door but I had no idea it existed until I read about in the local free tourist magazine.
Not really open to the public but you can schedule private tours.

In the little mountain town of Kremmling Colorado, 2 blocks from the main through town road, is an old un-used building. Through the white over paint, "WINCHESTER" can still be seen bleeding through.

Nope, he and his family own Comstock Commodities, born and raised an Iowa farm boy and still owns the farms.

Williamson's book "Winchester, the gun that won the West" devotes one chapter to the history of the Winchester hardware store chain. Winchester management kept pumping tons of money into expanding the chain even though early on it was obvious that it was not going to be a a popular success. Then the Great Depression hit.
