This stuff is junk.

I bought about four 500 round boxes during the '08-09 ammo panic. Back then we were buying whatever we could find, no?

I broke it out recently and started shooting it. In my 10-22 rifle it is dirty and with inconsistent accuracy. In my Ruger Mark IV pistol, it demonstrates too many duds, and frequently fails to cycle the action. This stuff is way underpowered. I also bought a bunch of Remington Thunderbolt 40 grain during the panic, and even that is better than Xpert.

I ended up giving away 2.5 boxes of the stuff to people at the range. I told them my problems but if they could make it work, they could have it.

Good ammo (CCI 0035) is plentiful right now, and relatively cheap. Life is too short for bad ammo.l

Regarding Winchester .22 ammo... I tried six of their .22 ammos about a year ago, firing five, five-shot groups in two rifles from benchrest. Most were mediocre as for as accuracy, but one really surprised me: Super X 40 grain Hyper Velocity HP.

My guns are good quality non-target bolt-actions, pretty much straight out-of-the-box. Average group size was .65", same rifles average .67" with CCI Standard Velocity. Except for occasionally testing a new ammo, CCI SV is about all I use in rifles and handguns.

I just ordered 10K rounds from Target Sports USA. Free shipping and with rebate from CCI.

I like the bulk packs of Federal 22s; work great in several pistols and rifles, never had a problem with 1 round..

When I was a youngster in the 60's SuperX was good stuff, but I tried it
back in the 90's in two styles and it was junk.........
never bought Win. .22 ammo again.

CCI and Federal gave me less problems, with one semi auto liking
the Remington "Gold" bullet out to 75 yards.

For the heavy weight I shoot the Velositer.
