Hi:
Watched "Wind River" movie on Netflix last night.
The rifle the FWC Officer used was a "Marlin" ? Caliber "45/70 ?
Was the female FBI Agent using a Glock 9mm ??

I enjoyed the film but got cold looking at all than snow.

I've watched Wind River a couple of times....great movie IMO. I think the Marlin is 45/70 but can't confirm & I think the Glock is either 9mm or 40 S&W.

I like the positive gun handling and wildlife messages presented in the movie. Real-life messages IMO.:)

There is a movie data base that list firearms in movies. Search guns in Wind River.

The website is Internet Movie Firearms Database
Sorry Pops2. I didn’t see your post. I didn’t mean to be repetitive.

It’s a good movie and I enjoyed it. It’s supposed to take place on the Wind River Reservation in Wyoming, though, and they filmed most all of it in Utah - nowhere near the Wind River Res. They had a two second shot of the main street in Lander, WY, which is within the Res., near the beginning of the show and that was pretty much it. Hate it when they do that!

Marlin Guide gun, I think.

I enjoyed the movie, too. The taciturn game warden guy is good, but I liked the young FBI agent, too. Reminds me of one of my nieces. Young, so a lot to learn, but a quick learner with the right gut instincts.

Wind River Movie

I really liked the Movie. I also liked the Action,
Scenery, Story Line, and could relate, because
Pine Ridge Indian Reservation is just down the
road from me.

The Rifle is The Marlin 1895 SBL 45-70 Govt.
(Jurassic Park Rifle) the GBL is the Blued version.

Currently the SBL is very hard to find. If you
want one, and get lucky to see it, you better
buy it. The ones I've actually Inspected are usually
gone within hours. Craftsmanship was Excellent.

I also believe it is another reason Silver Scopes
are hard to find. I have been watching for one
too.

I shot my Friend's Marlin SBL, so I will be getting
one eventually. I started Reloading for him because
Cartridges are so Expensive. I'm at .62 cents/rd.

Spent a week out there around Dubois year before last. I'm goin' back! Wonderful country.

Judging by the reloading scene, it was a 45-70. Great movie, too.

My wife even enjoyed the movie in general. Except for the scene inside the trailer. It would be nice but not even 45-70 will blow a guy through the door (It shoots clear through Buffalo), but it is such a lovely idea!

How far can you run barefoot through 30 degree below zero conditions? I hope I never find out!!

I have seen the movie and enjoyed it...though there were certainly some scenes that made one wonder.

I have a soft spot for the area as an old NOLS graduate, (1974), who spent five weeks backpacking and climbing in the Wind River Range with the late Scott Fischer (who died on Everest about 20 years later).

Is the old "Noble Hotel" still up and running in Lander?
